February 6, 2019, Cape Town, South Africa – Defending his 2018 title on the Naish Pivot and Monarch twin tip, Kevin Langeree made it two in a row, retaining the crown for Red Bull King of the Air. This makes Kevin the first, and only, three time winner of kiteboarding’s most prestigious event.
Going head-to-head in the three man final against Jesse Richman and Liam Whaley, Kevin rode with precision and amplitude to put together an overall score of 27.6.
Once again taking the top step on the podium, Kevin was smiling ear-to-ear as he was doused with a well deserved champagne shower and stepped off to give his post event interview. “Three times, it’s a miracle! I feel so happy, so stoked, to take this thing [trophy] back to Holland for the third time. What an event!” exclaimed Kevin Langeree.
Not only does this make Kevin the winningest kiter in King of the Air but also solidifies Naish as the winningest brand, with two wins credited to the Torchand two on the Pivot.
