Parawing
Naish Hatch V2
A second-generation parawing built for stable power, a wide working range, and a cleaner stow.

The Hatch V2 is Naish’s redesigned parawing for riders who want one wing that stays predictable from first pump to pack-down. Compared with the original Hatch, the V2 uses a more solid profile and less sweep so the wing sits quieter in the air, tracks upwind with more purpose, and keeps delivering usable power as conditions change.
Handling is the other half of the update. A reshaped bar, tidier bar ends, and a retracting harness line keep the control system out of the way. Shorter bridles, mixed line materials, and D-ribs are there to spread load, cut clutter, and make the wing easier to collapse and restow between runs.

What’s different on the V2
- More stable platform. A tougher profile and reduced sweep help the wing hold shape and drive upwind instead of wandering or folding under load.
- Nitinol profile rods. Shape-memory rods are used to keep the canopy structured session after session, rather than relying on rods that take a set and stay bent.
- Retracting harness line. The line pulls back when you don’t need it, which cuts snags on the bar and makes the wing easier to manage on the water and on the beach.
- Cleaner bar. An ergonomic grip and refined bar ends improve hand position and reduce line catch at the tips.
- D-ribs and mixed bridles. Load is spread more evenly across the canopy so fewer lines can do the same job. Soft UHMWPE A-lines help the wing collapse and pack; firmer sheathed lines keep the rest of the bridle efficient.
- Shorter, simpler line layout. Less line in the air means faster stows and fewer tangles when you redeploy.
- Water-resistant nylon canopy. A stiff, coated cloth is used so the wing stays responsive when it gets wet and holds a cleaner shape in a gust.
On the water
The Hatch V2 is aimed at riders who want a parawing that is easy to live with, not just fast in a straight line. Light bar pressure and straightforward depower make it usable for progressing riders. The same stability and upwind bite give experienced foilers a wing they can keep on the water when the wind is messy or the session is a mix of reaching, tacking, and stowing between waves or lulls.
It is a single-skin / parawing concept: compact in the bag, quick to get flying, and designed so you can collapse it and keep moving rather than fighting a bulky inflatable wing.
Specs by size
Wind ranges below are published for a 75 kg rider on an 80 L board. Treat them as a starting point — board volume, foil, and rider style will shift the numbers.
| Size | Aspect ratio | Stow length | Wind range | Wingspan |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2.1 | 2.72 | 1.17 m | 23–45 kn | 2.39 m |
| 2.8 | 2.75 | 1.36 m | 20–35 kn | 2.77 m |
| 3.5 | 2.80 | 1.50 m | 16–29 kn | 3.12 m |
| 4.3 | 2.77 | 1.58 m | 14–23 kn | 3.45 m |
| 5.1 | 2.77 | 1.67 m | 12–20 kn | 3.76 m |
Who it suits
- Riders moving into parawings who want stable, progressive power instead of a twitchy high-aspect sail.
- Intermediates who already foil and want one wing for mixed wind, upwind work, and fast stows.
- Experienced riders who want a compact travel / downwind / “keep it simple” option alongside a traditional inflatable wing.
What’s in the box
Confirm the exact pack-out with your shipment, but a typical Hatch V2 delivery includes:
- Hatch V2 canopy with bridles
- Control bar
- Retracting harness line system
- Carry / stow bag
Board, foil, harness, and leash are sold separately unless stated on your order.
Setup notes
- Read the official Naish parawing manual before the first session — line lengths, safety, and tuning matter more on a parawing than they look.
- Match size to rider weight, board volume, and local wind. The 3.5 is the common all-round size for an average foil rider; go smaller for strong wind, larger for light wind and heavier riders.
- Rinse with fresh water after salt sessions, dry the canopy in the shade, and stow loosely so the Nitinol rods and canopy coating last.
- Inspect bridles, bar ends, and the harness-line bungee regularly. Replace worn lines before they fail on the water.
